ARLG NW Copyright event

We’re getting ever closer to our event – An Introduction to Copyright so here are some more details about our speakers!

Date: Friday 27th March 2015 – 1pm (for 1.30 start) – 5pm

John Kelly from Jisc will be running a copyright basics session, including time for questions.

John is a qualified practising solicitor and has experience in commercial legal publishing prior to his employment with  Jisc. He began working with Jisc Legal in 2001 and helped to shape, develop and lead the outputs of the team over the years.

John’s role in Jisc is to deliver specialist advice and guidance and to ensure that legal compliance thinking forms a part of the planning and use of technology by Jisc’s customers as well as Jisc’ own innovation work and projects.”

Neil Sprunt is Teaching and Learning Librarian at the University of Manchester Library. Neil will discuss the Copyright service, including how it came into being and how it’s developed over time.

Event description:

ARLG NW are pleased to present our next event: An introduction to copyright. The afternoon will start with John Kelly from Jisc covering the basics of UK copyright law. Other speakers will present on their experiences of interpreting copyright in their own institutions. This will be followed by time for you to ask questions.
